Willow Oak (Quercus phellos)

$5.99

The willow oak gets its name from the long slender leaves similar to that of a willow tree.  Likewise, they can tolerate wet areas that experience intermittent flooding such as river bottoms or flats uphill from seasonal floods.  Their acorns are noticeably small compared to other common acorns which make them a great food source for ducks and other game birds.  They produce an abundance of acorns and since they are part of the red oak group, they are dependable year after year to produce acorn crops.  This is a perfect tree to plant a few of near that creek or pond on your property.  Waterfowl and game birds will definitely appreciate this tree along with wild turkey and deer.
